Sea to Sky Community

Regional Diversity

Our district contains three major population centers: Squamish (a dynamic city with a mix of businesses, post-secondary education institutions and light industry), Whistler (a world-class four-season resort that will host most of the alpine and sledding events at the 2010 Winter Olympics) and Pemberton (a quickly growing town 20 minutes from Whistler). Our district also serves three First Nations communities.

Community Culture

Outdoor activities abound – from skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and eagle watching in the winter to mountain biking, rock climbing, river rafting, golfing and more in the summer. The area is culturally diverse, with a significant First Nations population and a sizable Indo-Canadian population in Squamish.

Draw for Employees

As a district, we are committed to building a professional learning community based on the belief that when teachers learn, students succeed.
