Overview: Teaching Abroad at MBCIS
Be part of an exciting overseas teaching team in Foshan, China. MBCIS is a well-established BC-certified offshore school program. In seven years of operation the school has been highly successful in terms of all graduates securing places in prestigious universities world-wide.
ABOUT MBCIS
The school is housed in a state-of-the-art modern facility, located in a new suburb of Foshan. Apartments for teachers are high quality and within walking distance of the school.
The school focuses on fostering creativity and challenging students to become engaged and self-directed learners. MBCIS is committed to this vision and has dedicated the resources and facilities to help students and teachers succeed.
Working conditions at MBCIS are excellent. Class sizes are small, rarely exceeding fifteen students. Students take five courses per semester but teachers teach only three. Hence, preparation time is 40 percent. While at the school, you can expect to work in well-equipped classrooms with the latest technologies and superb acoustics.. The school has impressive facilities including 12 labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology as well as a design studio/maker space, digital learning centres and a model UN classroom.
For the arts, there is a band room, rehearsal studios, a dance studio, art rooms and two television studios. And overlooking an adjacent river is the school’s three-story library, which provides a calm study space for students. Even more, there’s a full-size gym, fitness centre, an indoor pool, tennis courts and playing fields for students and teachers to enjoy. The school has two cafeterias, one of which offers western cuisine.
The BC curriculum program is one of two English-language programs offered at Majestic International College.
Community Culture
Foshan is a modern city with a sub-tropical climate on the Pearl River in the Guangdong Province. The city is renowned for its lush foliage, green spaces and parks. You can hike, bike and enjoy the natural landscapes in and around the city. Cantonese is the spoken language in Foshan. It is the same language spoken in Hong Kong, and a familiar dialect spoken across many communities in BC.

Salary and Benefits
Compared to North American standards, the cost of living in Foshan is relatively low. MBCIS teachers earn an annual salary from $52,000 to $78,000 (CAD), depending on experience. Working for MBCIS you also receive fully subsidized accommodations with utilities, medical insurance and return airfare.
