School Overview

Why teach at Madrona School Society?

Madrona School is a small independent school that offers an academically challenging program for gifted and exceptional students from Kindergarten through Grade 9. When students leave Madrona, they attend other independent schools, Catholic schools and local public high schools. At Madrona School we aim to educate the whole child and our expertise is in educating gifted learners in a non-traditional way.

Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our school exists for the education of gifted and exceptional students. We embrace these unique young people, and prepare them for the world we share. We want every child’s day to be academically and emotionally fulfilling. Our purpose is to prepare our student both academically, socially, and emotionally for their future paths.

Our Unique programs

You’ll love working with our flexible cohorts, our focus on project-based and independent learning intentionally planned to address the synchronous path of gifted learners. Madrona offers teachers the opportunity to learn about giftedness and other unique learning styles and bring your own passion to the environment. Share your own skills and experiences with staff and students using our flexible timetable. Critical thinking, scientific literacy, and strong skills in reading and writing are emphasized throughout a student’s time at Madrona. In all our programs, we seek to balance rich opportunities for intellectual growth with the time needed for children to absorb and integrate what they have learned.

The Community

Our school is a fun environment to teach all subjects in small groups. We are a supportive, engaged and active community of parents and families that gives our school a close-knit feel.  Our strengths as a school are our low teacher-student ratio with a flexible and curious nature.

Workplace culture

Madrona School’s staff are flexible, curious and creative who pride themselves on their ability to develop close relationships with their students and families. We are a collaborative and supportive staff that like to have fun together! If you are looking for a small, close-knit community that embraces the uniqueness of each individual, we want to hear from you.
