Established in 1990, Christ Church Cathedral School is a destination school for families in Victoria who are looking for a challenging yet well-supported community of learners for their children in junior kindergarten through to Grade 8. As a Christian school steeped in the Anglican tradition, we focus on developing personal responsibility and accountability to the community.

School community

Christ Church Cathedral School offers a comprehensive curriculum that promotes academic excellence while nurturing each child’s social, emotional and spiritual growth. Our dedicated teachers work closely with students to develop their individual strengths and abilities, ensuring that they receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in high school and beyond.

Our Junior Kindergarten program provides a strong foundation for young learners, focusing on developing literacy and numeracy skills and fostering creativity and a love of learning. As students progress through our programs, they continue to build on this foundation with engaging and challenging coursework in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and the arts.

Our community

We are a day school located on a calm tree-lined street just a five-minute walk to the core of downtown Victoria. Our door opens at 7:30 AM for before-school care and stays open until 6:00 PM when after-school care ends. As a service to our community, we offer summer, spring and Christmas break camps.

Victoria is a destination for people from all over the world, with many relocating here because of the temperate climate. As a medium-sized city, Victoria has everything you need, from theatres, music and restaurants to the ocean, beaches, hills and hikes within a 30-50 minute drive.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, a health and dental benefits package, and a matching group RRSP program that starts at 5% and increases to 6%, 7% and 8% with 14, 18 and 22 years experience. For 2023-2024, the teachers’ salary grid ranges from $59,749 for a new teacher to $90,782 for a teacher with 10 years of experience. Teachers with a master’s degree in a relevant field of study qualify for a 10% bump in salary.
