Make a Future is celebrating its 10th anniversary! For the last decade, our organization has exemplified our slogan, which is "our futures are not determined simply by what we do, but by how and why we do it." Recognizing that a healthy and sustainable education workforce is key to building a world-class education, we have worked earnestly in the last decade to support BC school districts in various recruitment initiatives. From mobilizing 20 school districts to recruit teachers in Toronto to attending career fairs in France and Belgium to recruit French teachers, Make a Future has always gone the extra mile to meet the needs of BC's public schools.
Working in partnership with BC's public school districts, we have successfully recruited teachers, educational leaders, and support staff alike. And at the same time, our work has helped to inspire many young people to pursue careers in education.
Today Make a Future continues to support BC's K-12 public schools in addition to our partners in BC's independent First Nations schools and certified offshore schools. Moving forward, Make a Future remains committed to evolving its services to meet the ever-changing needs of BC schools so that we have the best education system in the world.
Make a Future was born on April 28, 2008, from the vision of the BC Public School Employers' Association, BC's Ministry of Education and 60 boards of education. Recognizing BC's ageing education workforce and the growing competition for educators nation-wide, www.makeafuture.ca was launched to provide a centralized platform to support school districts recruit teachers and aid job seekers with finding the opportunities that best fit their lifestyles and career aspirations.
Help us celebrate Make a Future's 10th anniversary by making an effort to inspire a student or make a child's future bright. Even better, if there is a remarkable young person in your life, encourage them to pursue a rewarding and inspiring career in education!
