French Immersion Teaching Opportunities

British Columbia's school districts are in significant need of French immersion teachers. Districts in all regions of the province from Metro Vancouver to Northern BC are struggling to fill full-time, part-time, and on-call roles.

There are French teacher job openings at the Vancouver School Board, Surrey Schools, Mission, and Prince George just to name a few.

Many of the advertised positions on Makeafuture.ca are set as on-going, which means that school districts will continually accept applications until a successful candidate is found.

Because of the shortage of proficient French-speaking educators, many school districts are also looking outside of the province to recruit teachers.  Certified teachers from Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and other Canadian provinces can apply for a BC teaching certificate through the Teacher Regulation Branch.

French immersion teachers and French-speaking educators play an important role in BC schools in providing language instruction, and also promoting the francophone culture.  French teachers in BC schools typically have a bachelor of education from an accredited university and are bilingual in French and English.

New teaching opportunities are posted daily on Makeafuture.ca.
