Catholic School Career Fair for Canadian Teachers in BC
Canadian Teachers are in Demand in BC's Catholic Schools
Canadian Catholic teachers, your calling is in British Columbia! Our province's Catholic school boards are hiring teachers and education assistants for full-time and part-time positions starting immediately and in the following school year.
In BC's Catholic schools, you'll have the opportunity to grow professionally and spiritually in a church community while applying a whole-child teaching approach in your own classroom.
On Thursday, April 8th, 2021, teachers will have the opportunity to meet with BC's largest K-12 Catholic school employers at the BC Catholic School Career Fair. At this free online event, Catholic school teachers have the opportunity to learn more about careers in BC and interview with Catholic schools from across the province.
Currently, there are 56 Catholic teacher job postings on www.makeafuture.ca. Thirty-nine of these teaching opportunities are in full-time roles at the elementary and secondary levels. The majority of these opportunities are in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley region schools; however, there are also opportunities in smaller communities in Kamloops, Prince George, Nelson and Victoria.
What type of candidates are Catholic schools looking for?
We surveyed BC's Catholic school employers, and they are looking for like-minded educators who want to be active members of the church community. All teachers should also possess a valid BC teaching certificate or one from another Canadian jurisdiction. Additionally, you'll need a recent pastoral reference to complete your job application to a Catholic school.

The largest employer at the career fair is the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). Their principals and recruiters are looking for teachers and education assistants to fill various roles in their 52 school locations. They represent 41 elementary and 11 secondary schools in Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Surrey and Powell River.
If you're interested in teaching in a smaller community, you can also meet with recruiters representing Okanagan, Kamloops, Nelson, Prince George, and Victoria dioceses.
