Welcome to Catholic Independent Schools, Diocese of Prince George

Why You’ll Love It Here
Teaching in our Catholic schools is more than a career — it’s a vocation. We’re looking for passionate educators who teach, model and inspire others in the faith.
Our schools value teachers and provide opportunities for professional growth and collaboration. You’ll work with supportive colleagues within your school, across the diocese and throughout the province to help fulfill the vision and mission of our diocese and the Catholic Church.
We offer full-time classroom positions with competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, ongoing faith formation and a learning environment that encourages creativity and strong Catholic leadership.
What We Value
Our Mission: To promote the integral formation of students in all areas of learning enlightened by Faith in Jesus Christ to enable them to become responsible citizens and disciples who participate in the life and mission of the church, to build the Kingdom of God in the world.
Our Values: Faith (caring, compassion, courage), Responsibility (trust, integrity, positive legacy), Personal Excellence (passion, curiosity, creativity), Respect (inclusion, diversity, dignity) and Community (service, teamwork, family).
Our Vision Parents, Pastors and Staff collaborate to form a community where students are inspired to live the sacramental life, to grow in the moral life of virtue and to thrive intellectually.
What Makes Us Unique
Founded in 1917, Annunciation Catholic School was the first in our diocese. Over the past century, pioneers, missionaries, Frontier Apostles and families have helped establish seven additional schools, building a lasting legacy of Catholic education.
Our schools are vibrant Catholic learning communities. We teach the B.C. curriculum while integrating faith, with ceremonies and gatherings aligned to the liturgical calendar. Students participate in Mass, learn the significance of the Eucharist and pray together with staff as a faith community.
We respectfully acknowledge that we work and learn on the traditional territories of the Lheidli T’enneh in Prince George; the Tsimshian Nation in Prince Rupert and Terrace; the Haisla Nation in Kitimat; the Wet’suwet’en Nation in Smithers; and the West Moberly and Saulteau First Nations in Dawson Creek.
Our School Community
Our priests visit regularly, connecting with students and staff and supporting school events. Catholic schools offer a balanced learning experience enhanced by modern technology. Students enjoy extra-curricular activities including volleyball, basketball, soccer, cross-country, band, choir and speech arts.
CISPG schools are welcoming and inclusive, with supportive families and dedicated staff who model the Catholic faith. Students from diverse backgrounds and with unique learning needs thrive in these communities, which provide opportunities for friendships, growth and a caring, active Catholic environment. Our enrolment of about 1,600 students has grown steadily over the past decade.
Life in Prince George
Our diocese spans the northwest Pacific coast and central British Columbia, with eight Catholic schools in Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Terrace, Smithers, Prince George and Dawson Creek. These welcoming communities offer opportunities for new friendships, an active lifestyle and affordable living, with no long commutes and options for homeownership.
Opportunities abound year-round, with community clubs and organizations welcoming volunteers and participants. Spanning central British Columbia to the Pacific coast at Kitimat and Prince Rupert, these communities offer a relaxed, easy-going lifestyle for those seeking a slower pace. All eight communities have healthcare facilities, recreation complexes, art galleries, museums and strong cultural connections with local Indigenous communities.
