Regional Diversity

From coastal beaches to mountain forests, North Vancouver’s natural setting offers year-round recreational opportunities. The rich multiculturalism of our district is reflected in a wide array of programs and services, including our commitment to supporting the history, culture and traditions of the First Nations communities on whose traditional territories we are located.

Specialty Programs

Our specialty programs include band, the Artists for Kids gallery, early and late French immersion, International Baccalaureate, Aboriginal education; international education and distributed learning. Special needs students are well supported. The district has strong participation in extracurricular athletics, band , choir and student leadership. We are also very proud of our residential outdoor education centre located near Squamish, BC.

Community Culture

North Vancouver is the perfect location for individual, family and community pursuits. Just minutes from Vancouver, we’re only a short commute to the additional cultural activities and sporting events in the broader Metro Vancouver area.

Draw for Employees

We are a provincial leader in developing instructional programs and curriculum resources such as Reading and Math 44. We value teaching and learning, high standards of accountability, innovation and creativity, community involvement, and collaboration and collegiality. North Vancouver is “the natural place to learn” and for staff, “the natural place to work.”
