Regional Diversity

Surrey is home to high density urban areas, seaside communities, farmland and a wide range of suburban neighbourhoods. Our borders extend to the Pacific Ocean, the United States, the Fraser River and neighbouring communities such as Langley, Delta and New Westminster. We have convenient highway and transit access to all areas of Greater Vancouver.

Specialty Programs

We offer a wide variety of programs of choice that provide unique settings for students, as well as programs for children with special needs. These programs include full-day ESL and Aboriginal kindergarten, intensive fine arts and intensive core French, French immersion (early and late), Punjabi language, Montessori, traditional school, International Baccalaureate, Surrey Connect (Distributed Learning) and adult education.

Community Culture

Our students represent a mosaic of culture, with 42% coming from a household in which a language other than English is spoken. We strive to recognize and celebrate the many cultures that make up this vibrant school district in our buildings and programs, and our workforce reflects our community’s cultural diversity.

Draw for Employees

As a large district – and one of the few in BC with growing enrolment – we provide many opportunities for employment and career growth. We offer competitive salaries, professional development and an exciting and innovative workplace. Affordable housing and proximity to other Lower Mainland municipalities make our district a desirable place to work and live.
