About

“At Gold Trail school district we work together to support success for all students in a safe, supportive, culturally rich environment reflecting the unique strengths of our rural communities.”
Our district communities are all small and remote, but each is unique in terms of culture and outlook. The mission statement speaks to that and drives the work we do.

Regional Diversity

The population of our school district is approximately 50% Aboriginal. Landscapes are incredible and include desert (where we enjoy some of BC’s hottest summers), mountains and lush forests, and rolling Chilcotin ranchland. Our communities share a rich history related to the Cariboo Gold Rush.

Specialty Programs

Gold Trail school district is committed to improving completion rates for all learners. We have a vibrant trades program; the AVID program is in place at all schools for students in grade 5 and up; and this year we will have continuing education centres in each community. To support professional development opportunities, we recently hired six district TOCs.

Community Culture

Our communities are dedicated to preserving, developing and expanding services for their residents – ultimately enhancing the lifestyle of all who live here. The school district plays a pivotal role in promoting this goal, and is the “tie that binds” our communities.

Draw for Employees

Strong communities with an abundance of cultural and recreational opportunities – together with a commitment to student success and staff development – make Gold Trail school district a leader in the province.
