About

“Ensuring all students have meaningful learning experiences, empowering them to succeed in an ever-changing world.”

Our mission is supported by four core operating values: respect, responsibility, kindness and caring, and acceptance. Together, these guide our learning priorities, practices, policies, processes and budget allocations, enabling us to provide a holistic and supportive learning experience for our children

Regional Diversity

Our district encompasses forests, lakes, plains, mountains and big sky. The rich Aboriginal culture – combined with opportunities for fishing, hiking, hunting or just sitting back and relaxing – allow for a broad range of cultural and outdoor experiences. There is something here for everyone, which is why so many people come for a visit and end up living here for a lifetime.

Community Culture

Our employees are our greatest asset and they are committed to providing a top-notch education for the students of the Cariboo. There are countless opportunities to pursue your passions, from starting a club and being a coach to making a difference, pursuing leadership aspirations and more.

Specialty Programs

We have a number of special programs, including: French immersion, alternate education, alternate year school, First Nations language and cultural programs, and traditional school. Literacy and numeracy is a focus in our district: we offer Reading Recovery and a number of other literacy and numeracy strategies specifically selected to support the unique learning needs of students in the Cariboo.

Draw for Employees

Our community is unique and diverse, with employees coming from a range of backgrounds and cultures. Outdoor activities are unsurpassed: fly fishing, playing outdoor hockey on a homemade rink, whitewater rafting and mountain bike riding. We also have drama and theatre groups, a vibrant visual arts community and numerous local events, all with their own individual flavour.
