BC Public School Districts Overview

In BC where 60 public school districts operate approximately 1,600 public schools. Each region and school district offers its own unique set of professional, recreational, and lifestyle advantages.

Within the K-12 system, there are also opportunities in BC’s Francophone School Board and Independent First Nations Schools.

Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la C-B (CSF)

Within each region, there are schools operated by BC’s francophone school board which provides educational services exclusively in French.  Since 1995, School District 93, le Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la C-B (CSF), has provided education services to the rapidly growing Francophone community.

First Nations Schools

Aside from the vast opportunities in the public education, there is immense opportunity izn the 130 independent First Nations schools in the province. These schools, while diverse, are all committed to providing students with a positive foundation in all academic areas, including language and culture learning. Most First Nations schools are located in unique, small settings and are members of a collective support agency, the First Nations Schools Association.
